WWE No Mercy 2016 Latest News: AJ Styles vs. John Cena Revived, Dean Ambrose the Odd Man Out?
AJ Styles will put the WWE heavyweight title on the line at WWE No Mercy 2016 in a Triple Threat match, which will involve Dean Ambrose and John Cena. This went down following the events that occurred in the Sept. 13 edition of WWE SmackDown.
Styles pulled off a surprise on WWE Backlash when he used a low blow to set up Ambrose his “Styles Clash.” That move rewarded him with the heavyweight title and now Cena wants a crack at it.
The surprise return of Cena to SmackDown was hardly a surprise considering critics were expecting it. Both Cena and Styles had an unfinished storyline, the last of which was at WWE SummerSlam. But it will not be a plain singles match with Dean Ambrose also tossed in the mix.
Who is the odd man out?
Based on what went down at SmackDown, it looks like Styles may have an easy match ahead of him. Cena and Ambrose were in a heated exchange and everything went up a notch when the “Lunatic Fringe” hit a “Dirty Deeds” on Cena following their win over Styles and “The Miz”.
Ambrose wants redemption, Cena wants 16th title
Both Ambrose and Cena have different reasons for wanting to win the WWE heavyweight title. The only common thing both have is that they want a piece of Styles.
For Ambrose, it is all about reclaiming the lost gold on his waist. He took a cheap shot and lost the title so redemption in the worst possible way is on his mind.
Cena, on the other hand, wants to start proving he can overcome Styles. The “Phenomenal One” is 2-0 against him and also wants to tie up Ric Flair by being only the other 16-time WWE champion, something which was mentioned in a previous post.
With both having their reasons, the Triple Threat match should be brutal. But will both save some and give Styles a beating as well instead of against each other?
