Pokémon GO Tips, Guide, Tutorials: How To Change Teams in the Popular Augmented Reality Game
Pokémon GO is perhaps one of the most famous video games right now. It has reached iconic status and it even made headlines in the recent 2016 Rio Olympics when Japanese gymnast Kohei Uchimura got a $4,954 phone bill when he kept playing the game while he was in Brazil.
Apparently, Uchimura wasn't aware of the roaming charges he was incurring while he was playing the game. Fortunately he was able to secure an agreement with his phone service provider to lessen the charges, but the incident is a clear proof of how popular the game is and scores of people around the world have been playing it like crazy.
One person even managed to get all the Pokémon characters and he went around the world to do it. According to Mashable, Nick Johnson, an American, was able to capture all 145 Pokémon characters some of which he had to fly to Australia and Paris to get them.
It truly is an exciting and addictive game to play. However, one detail that these extreme players probably forgot to tell other players is that you can't switch teams when you've already gone too high up the Pokémon ladder.
Switching teams a possibility?
Some online sites say that changing teams is still possible but it relies on the level that you're in. Players who are still in low trainer levels and who haven't acquired too many XPs can still change teams. All they have to do is file a request with Niantic, Inc., the software developer behind Pokémon GO.
When a player joins Pokémon GO he/she will be required to choose a team. Currently there are three teams -- Team Mystic, Team Valor and Team Instinct, Once you've reached a certain level, it will be impossible for you to switch teams even if you file a formal request with Niantic.
So experts are saying that you should choose wisely when picking a team. But if you feel that you still want to change teams you should do it before you level up in the game. Also, experts say that you should not create another account to join another team since it's considered breaking the rules. So choose wisely and just have fun with the team that you're in.
