Android 7.0 Nougat Update for Samsung Galaxy S7, S7 Edge Rolling Out Soon?
When Android Nougat became official, most Android users have been waiting for their device to get the new version of the popular operating system. However, the new version did not arrive to all Android users altogether. Instead, it gradually rolls out to different models that are eligible for upgrade. Luckily for Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge, the wait is almost over.
According to GSM Arena post, the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge are about to get a Nougat update. This is based on a recent Geekbench listing showing that the update is almost ready for roll out to the said devices. However, this isn't exactly a big shocker as Samsung is known to ship new Android versions to its latest flagship phones, and even to its older flagship phones, quickly.
Android Nougat 7.0 Update For Other Samsung Devices Coming Out Soon
Based on Samsung's history, the Nougat update could also be expected to extend to the Samsung Galaxy S6 devices, and possibly to a few more flagship phones before that. However, an exact release date for the update is not yet certain, and it's possible that the update for older models will come at a later time.
In the case of the Samsung Galaxy Note 7, on the other hand, it's not yet sure if it will get the Nougat update together with the S7 variants. A report from IBTimes last month indicated that the Android Nougat update will roll out to the Note 7 in 2-3 months. This was officially stated by Samsung, saying that they plan to do a thorough beta testing before updating the operating system.
Since the report about the Nougat update for Galaxy S7 and S7 edge did not specify a date, it's not impossible that it would actually be released together with the Note 7's update. Based on that statement from Samsung, the Galaxy Note 7 could get its Nougat update sometime in October or November.
