Tony Romo is still out and the Dallas Cowboys continue to ride on the shoulders of rookie Dak Prescott for quarterbacking duties. Thus far, Prescott has managed to fill in perfectly as the veteran quarterback continues to be out due to a back injury.

There is no timetable for Romo’s return, but he was spotted throwing some passes during warm up in Washington. It could be a sign of an impending return though nothing has been made official as mentioned in a previous post.

Jerry Jones still favors Romo over Prescott

Dallas Cowboys team owner Jerry Jones continues to wait on Romo even with the efforts of Prescott, ESPN reported. Some are now wondering how the team will transition once Romo is up and about, but Jones seems to be sticking to his prized veteran over the rookie.

There is no doubt that Jones has a lot of faith in Romo over Prescott. Romo has been around and done a lot for the Cowboys so such is understandable. But will that change soon seeing how Romo has become injury-prone?

This also hints at the Cowboys more than likely carrying Romo over to the active roster even though it makes no sense having someone who is questionable to play (yet). Jones is likely banking on the positive results stemming from the health examinations recently and expects the 36-year-old back in harness soon.

Banking on experience than chance?

Some may find it hard to understand the stance of Jones, but it seems obvious that he is leaning more on someone proven than an upstart. Prescott is shining, but it remains that he has a lot to learn in the NFL.

Prescott will improve as the years go by but until that time comes, Jones is sticking with the man who has been there for several years already. The only question is when will Romo be fit to play.

Who should start for the Dallas Cowboys?
