Udonis Haslem signed a new $4 million, one-year deal with the Miami Heat, which means he will still be suiting up for the only team he has played for since entering the league. He is the longest-tenured player for the ballclub though he hopes his buddy was still around.

This is with reference to Dwyane Wade who is now with the Chicago Bulls. As most know, Wade wanted to be paid what is due to him, which the Miami Heat were not able to give.

That said, the Bulls were willing to pay Wade the proper salary due to him and the rest was history. Somehow one has to wonder why Riley passed on keeping “The Flash” after years of sacrifice to ramp up the winning ways of the ballclub.

Haslem wants to bring back Wade

Moving forward, Haslem would want nothing but to bring back Wade back to Miami. Seeing the drama that happened last Summer, that could be a tall order.

Wade does have the option to opt out of his $20 million deal with the Bulls next season, meaning the only way that the Heat can get him back is if they can afford him. But if the Heat were unwilling to do that this year, it is likely that the story will be the same in 2017.

Despite those in mind, Haslem is not giving up on the possibility. He will try to persuade Wade even though it seems to be a useless cause. Would it not be better if he joins Wade in Chicago instead?

Apparently, Haslem has grown fond of Miami and would prefer to stay. Hence, the win-win situation is to bring back his buddy to South Beach where they will most likely retire.

Based on the series of events, the only thing the Heat can do is give Wade the proper pay for as long as he can play at the competitive level. If not, a feasible time to see Wade back is to end his career in Miami, a nostalgic idea to fete the all-star guard.

That could happen three years for now when Haslem turns 39 and Wade 37. It may be a long shot but that possibility will be all about respect.
