While the first two Dragon Ball-based games, Dragon Ball Heroes: Ultimate Mission and its sequel, did not make it outside of Japan, the latest installment to the Dragon Ball 3DS game franchise, Dragon Fall Fusions, likely will as it gets a scheduled release for North American and European audiences.

Of these two regions, North America will first get a hold of the game as it gets its official release date of December 13, 2016, only to be followed in Europe a few months later at February 2017, Siliconera reported. The delay for the European release may have something to do with the localization for multiple languages apart from English.

Although a game franchise mostly popular for its beat-em-up gameplay by recent generations outside of Japan, older Dragon Ball fans across the globe know it to be more diverse. Dragon Ball Fusions lived up to that same idea for its newly-developed action RPG gameplay mechanics, never before seen in any Dragon Ball-based games.

According to Polygon, in this particular game, players are given more freedom throughout the game starting from character customization and the ability to wander around the game's sandbox maps. You not only move around places in Dragon Ball Fusions, however, as there is also a good purpose to it like getting side quest missions to do, etc.

Furthermore, the gameplay is based on the rock-paper-scissor system wherein a certain attack is stronger against another but can also be weaker from another. This gives the game a sense of balance that keep players engaged and thinking strategically while playing.

But with "fusion" at its central theme (and hence, the title), the game also features the combining of two unique characters in order to create new ones, canon to the anime or otherwise. Amplifying in this same feature is the game allowing its players through their picture to fuse themselves with their favorite Dragon Ball character and see the outcome.

Dragon Ball Fusions was originally released in Japan last August 4.
