'Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2' Release Date, Gameplay: New Playable Character Confirmed for New PS4, Xbox One, PC [VIDEO]
While the Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 is not yet officially complete, as it still had to go through its closed and open betas that was recently announced by Bandai Namco during the Tokyo Game show 2016 to be happening later this year, the dates mentioned are specific only to Japan.
However, eager fans of the game elsewhere can join the fun too as the beta is also accessible worldwide. However, there is a catch -- they must be owners of PlayStation 4. Xbox One and PC owners, on the other hand, will have to wait until the game's full release before they could get their hands on the game.
According to Bandai Namco's tweet at their official Twitter page, the first closed beta will start at Japan on Oct. 8, 2016, 5 P.M., JST and will run until Oct. 10, 2016, 5 P.M., JST. Closed beta players, however, need have to be invited first in order to join the fun, as there will be very limited slots in it starting launch.
Meanwhile, the open beta for the game will be starting on Oct. 14, 2016, 5 P.M., JST until Oct. 17, 2016, 5 P.M., JST. This will cater for a larger audience, as the early version of the game is made available for download via the PlayStation Store.
But apart from just merely having to have an early access with the game on open beta, participants of the event will also get to benefit from doing so as they get a "special usable item," which they can use when the game is fully released.
Keeping open beta testers engaged with the event, a tournament for people will reportedly be hosted. Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 will be officially released outside of Japan on Oct. 25, 2016.
Lastly, according to Attack of the Fan Boy, the game will also be including a new playable character, the Namekia Nail, who will also appear as part of the game's story. Super Saiyan God versions of both Son Goku and Vegeta will still be significant in the game and thus their appearances. As for supporting characters, Bulma and Dende will be joining the ranks.
