After six seasons of The Walking Dead, some viewers might think that the zombie series may have become dull and predictable, but that all comes to naught after the trailer for the seventh season was released.

From the looks of the trailer provided by EOnline.com, the hit zombie apocalypse show is anything but dull. In fact, the new trailer suggests that there's more to expect from the upcoming season than ever before.

In the previous season, viewers finally had a glimpse of Rick Grimes' (Andrew Lincoln) mortal enemy, Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan), and his introduction was epic and brutal. Before the season ended, Negan held everyone hostage and decided to kill one of the people in Rick's group as punishment for trifling with him.

But the season ended with a cliffhanger, and when Negan brought down his barbed baseball bat, no one from the viewers knew who the unfortunate soul was that suffered a gruesome fate.

If the comic book version was to be referenced, the unlucky victim would probably be Glenn Rhee (Steven Yeun). In the comic books, Glenn was Negan's victim when the latter decided to teach Rick a lesson by killing one of his friends.

Fans of both the show and the series have been postulating that Steven Yeun will bow out in the seventh season because his character is getting axed (so to speak) by Negan. But so far there are no indications, at least from the trailer, that that's what's going to happen.

The trailer shows a continuation of what transpired in the previous season and Negan was clubbing someone to death, but viewers weren't given the chance to find out who the person was. What's more frustrating, or exciting depending on how one looks at it, about the trailer is that no one from Rick's group who were captured in the previous season was present throughout the trailer.

So in effect the trailer implied that anyone from the hapless group could have suffered that gruesome fate. Viewers will have to wait until October 23 to find out who is going to die.
