Fans of 'Red Dead Redemption' have been scouring the internet for any information about a sequel to the popular western-themed video game. One of the most persistent rumors that the web has coughed up is that the upcoming sequel might be presented with a new title, 'Legends of the West.'

According to GameNGuide, the supposed title to the sequel is 'Red Dead Redemption 2: Legends of the West,' although they noted that this is pure speculation. But they did reiterate that a title such as that would work well with the sequel seeing that the continuing saga of the popular video game might feature a prequel of sorts.

The tech site posted a video explaining why it would make sense for Rockstar to come up with a prequel to Red Dead Redemption, which is why the title 'Legends of the West' would really make sense. In the video, the speaker talked about the game's protagonist, John Marston. He said that the depth of Marston's backstory could prompt Rockstar to come up with a prequel game.

He said that there are so many areas in John Marston's former life that Rockstar could delve into, and he believes that loyal players of this game will find them interesting as well. He even cited Marston's daughter, whom Rockstar can build a story around and possibly incorporate it into the upcoming sequel.

He also mentioned that moving forward with the game's story might lose some of its uniqueness seeing that the Red Dead Redemption franchise is so successful because players love seeing the Old West. So if Rockstar decides to move forward, they might disappoint some fans.

But so far, these are mere speculations. And until Rockstar releases the sequel to Red Dead Redemption, fans will have to make do with rumors. Although one particular rumor that could be great for the franchise is the introduction of a female protagonist.

According to University Herald, a fan of the game decided to create a fake cover of a Red Dead Redemption video game case with a female character on the front. The character looks like a Native American and she's equipped with a bow, a quiver of arrows and an axe. It can be an idea that Rockstar might pick up, but it's definitely not part of the sequel.
