Miami Heat Rumors: Rudy Gay Moving To South Beach Before Trade Deadline? [POLL]
Rudy Gay has made it known that he will opt out of his contract with the Sacramento Kings after this season and such has sparked NBA trade rumors as expected. To date, no team has been linked to the scoring forward, but the trend is expected to change through the course of the 2016-17 NBA season.
There is one team that Gay is reportedly interested in and that is the Miami Heat. Looking at the scenario, seeing Gay head to South Beach would make a lot of sense.
The Heat have found themselves in rebuild mode and an obvious need is a scorer. They have Hassan Whiteside and Goran Dragic leading the new pack so adding a scoring machine like Gay could be something Pat Riley may consider.
Fit to run with the Heat
Heat coach Erik Spoelstra will employ something different this season and that will be an active running team. Gay has been known to work well in the open court, another serious point for consideration.
With the pieces seemingly a perfect fit, all it will take now is to brew up a workable trade that will benefit both the Heat and the Kings. The question is who and how.
Apparently this is the part where we make wild guesses to make ends meet. For the Heat, hooking up gay will need heavy resources. In fact it may include Dragic if the price is too stiff. But giving up a guard for a forward seems a bit off so perhaps it may be best to move on.
Looking at the roster however makes a bit of sense. The Heat have an overloaded backcourt so offering them for Gay could work. Such may benefit the Kings as well who are in need of guards.
Rajon Rondo is now with the Chicago Bulls, also ironically where former Heat superstar Dwyane Wade is right now. The Kings do have Darren Collison around but more are needed. This seems like a logical deal to make though the elements included are still sketchy.
