WWE Rumors: The Rock vs Roman Reigns Planned for WrestleMania 33? [POLL]
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has never missed a “Wrestlemania” and from the looks of it, he will not be left out of “Wrestlemania 33” yet again. But the more pressing question is whether he will wrestle or simply make an appearance?
Looking over the past two Wrestlemanias, “The Rock” has technically not competed. The closest to that is perhaps at WrestleMania 32 where he got into an impromptu match with Erick Rowan. He, of course, had some help from John Cena and that is the closest that WWE fans have gotten to seeing the “People’s Champ” in action.
Cousin vs. Cousin
For Wrestlemania 33, “The Rock” is more than likely to appear. He could plug in another movie or maybe give the fans a show. Speaking of which, why not help out his troubled cousin, Roman Reigns.
Everyone is aware that unlike “The Rock”, the WWE Universe has been hard on the “Big Dog.” He has been criticized for his lack of spunk behind the microphone and his matches have become predictable and lopsided.
Right now, anyone placed against Reigns will likely get a beating with the results depending on whether the match was done cleanly or dirty. Against “The Rock,” it would be epic and something that could aid Reigns cause.
Will “The Rock” have time to spare?
While the storyline could be neat for WrestleMania 33, it all depends on Johnson’s Hollywood commitment. Everyone knows how busy the former WWE star is in the film industry and such is a reason why he has been limited to cameo appearances.
Also, “The Rock” is a legend and someone who could do well to face someone legendary like Triple H. But on a competitive level, it just doesn’t seem to suit “The Rock” to make an ‘electrifying’ return for now.
For Reigns, it would have been something. But it could also hurt him since fans would know it was a push he direly needs (recall WWE Royal Rumble 2015). Nothing has been set for now so that possibility could actually happen.
