Samsung recently experienced a setback when owners of the Galaxy Note 7 complained that their phablets suddenly burst into flames.

According to Forbes, Samsung's plan to launch the Galaxy Note 7 earlier than expected in order to suppress customers' attention on Apple's iPhone 7 didn't work to their advantage. The early launch of the Galaxy Note 7 prevented Samsung from carefully examining their products and one flaw that escaped them was the phablet's defective battery.

According to some customers, the Galaxy Note 7's battery overheated and some even burst into flames. This is why Samsung is now in a race to repair their reputation and they're hoping that the Galaxy S8 will do the trick.

According to Forbes, rumors about the Galaxy S8 suggest that the upcoming smartphone will be equipped with several of the most recent technology known to the smartphone industry. It is rumored that the Galaxy S8 will be designed with dual-edged casings based on the fact that Samsung released the Galaxy Note 7 with a similar design but without the name indicating its specific shape.

They said that moving forward Samsung might design their smartphones with curved edges without putting it in the name. The company is reportedly planning to make this their standard design.

Another feature that the Samsung Galaxy S8 might carry is the 4K resolution with 3840 pixels by 2160 pixels for their screens. Rumors have it that Samsung is aiming to provide topnotch video quality not just for viewing purposes, but also because they are looking forward to using VR applications on their smartphones and phablets.

Forbes also said that the Galaxy S8 might also be equipped with dual-lens camera, which some thought would be already available in the Galaxy Note 7. It seems that Samsung might put it on the shelf until the S8 is launched. Lastly, some believe that the Galaxy S8 will feature a removable battery compartment seeing that some customers still deem it necessary.

Samsung is trying its best to recover from their recent mishap. And if these rumored features are true, then perhaps they'll be able to do just that and even beat their competitors at the same time.
