The Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge were released early this year, which is why they are running the older Android version despite being 2016 flagship phones.

The Android Nougat was released to the public a few months after the Galaxy S7 devices were released, so S7 owners did not get to enjoy the new Android Nougat right from the box. Luckily for them now, a source says that Samsung is already testing Nougat on the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge. Also, the company is giving the S7 and S7 Edge users more than just the Android Nougat update.

A new rumor suggests that the S7 and S7 Edge's owners won't only get to have Google's latest Android version, they'll also get some good things prepped up by Samsung. This means that Samsung might actually bring the Grace UX to the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge through the Android Nougat update.

According to GSMarena, the new UI will come to the devices with the expanded feature set for 'Always On Display,' which was also first introduced in the Galaxy Note 7. Further report also says that the new UI is running better on the S7 and S7 devices compared to the software that these devices currently have. This should be good news to S7 and S7 Edge owners, but it's still not sure whether the good performance is brought about by Samsung's additions, or simply by the Android Nougat update.

Since the new Android version is already being tested on the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge, it wouldn't take a long time before they would be released to the public. Although no official date has been promised by the company, it's almost sure that Samsung will release the update in no time. For the Note 7 on the other hand, Theandroidsoul reported that the Note 7 Nougat update will come in two to three months' time.
