NFL Rumors: Adrian Peterson Moving to Carolina Panthers in 2017? [POLL]
Adrian Peterson’s future with the Minnesota Vikings may no longer be secured and his recent procedure to repair a torn meniscus may have just made it worse. Depending on how fast he heals, there is a slight chance he may have played his last game with the Vikings.
Moving forward, there is no question that Adrian Peterson is still a running back that could help out other ballclubs. Even at 32, he has proven to be an asset. Unfortunately his future does not lie on his hands with the Vikings holding a team option to his services.
Adrian Peterson headed to the Carolina Panthers
There is no doubt that Adrian Peterson seems far from finished in the NFL. There will be teams interested in securing his services.
Judging by his style of play, Peterson may best join a club that has an established defensive line. Right now, the Carolina Panthers could be that club.
The Panthers boast of a defensive team that includes linebackers Luke Kuechly and Thomas Davis. Imagine adding Peterson to the mix, which should make it easier for the offensive team of Cam Newton, Greg Olsen and Kelvin Benjamin to operate.
Running back stability needed
At the moment, the Panthers have Jonathan Stewart playing the running back position but has frequented sick bay. An upgrade using Peterson makes a lot of sense, something that could improve the chances of the Panthers assuming they reach Super Bowl 51.
Carolina did just that last year with Cam Newton at the helm. But it remains that the team lacked the defensive stability and offensive flow to stand up against the Denver Broncos last time out.
All that could change with the addition of Peterson, something that can only be made possible if the Vikings cut him off. Right now there is no word on whether Peterson will be cut but just in case, the Panthers and more will likely be waiting to net him.
