Watch: Jon Jones Gets Tapped Out By Young Girl At Grappling Tournament
The immediate fighting future of former light heavyweight Jon Jones remains uncertain, as he remains in the sidelines, under indefinite suspension.
"Bones" was slapped with the said sanction after he failed a drug test leading up to his UFC 200 main event title fight against Daniel Cormier last July 9. With only 48 hours before fight night, Jones was pulled out from the contest, and was subsequently replaced by former long-time middleweight champion Anderson Silva.
It was not the first time that Jones had an infraction that proved to be detrimental to his image as a fighter. In April 2015, he was slapped with a six-month suspension by the UFC after being involved in a hit-and-run accident in Albuquerque earlier that year, leaving a pregnant woman with a broken arm. The said misdemeanor was on top of a positive cocaine test in December of 2014.
In March, he was once again in hot water when a video of him having a discussion with a police officer in Albuquerque had surfaced, after he was stopped for a speeding violation. The said violation, however, did not deter his UFC return in April at UFC 197 against Ovince Saint Preux, where he won via unanimous decision.
As Jones remains shelved, he apparently continues to keep himself active in combat sports. The 29-year-old fighter appeared at the North American Grappling Association (NAGA) tournament on Saturday, where had the chance to roll with some of the competitors.
As reported by Justin Golightly for Champions.co, Jones was just signing autographs during the event, when Don Daubert from 10th Planet Jiu-Jitsu in Phoenix challenged him for a friendly grappling match. Jones heeded Daubert's request, and as quite expected, ended up winning by guillotine choke.
He went on to grapple with another competitor, and once again won by arm triangle submission. Jones, however, was not too lucky the third time, when he faced of with a young girl. Below is the video of their match.
