Halloween 2016: Live Like Dracula Inside this Hair-Raising Castle!
Halloween is just a fortnight away and already we can feel its approaching presence. Starting with adverts, to store merchandise and what's this we hear - an Airbnb contest? Yes that's right, win a chance of a lifetime, and experience what it is like to be Dracula for at least a night on that fated Halloween night! Oh the creeps!
According to ABC30, two people will get the chance to sleep at Dracula's haunt, Bran Castle this Oct. 31. The lucky receivers of this Airbnb promo will have a wine and dine experience of a chicken paprikash candlelight dinner. They will also get to try how to sleep like Dracula does which is sleeping in coffins with red-velvet trimmings.
The contest is hosted by Dacre Stoker, the great grandnephew of Dracula's creator Bram Stoker. In a telephone interview it was revealed that the "Halloween in Dracula's castle event" is about giving people a good scare and a good experience as well as re-creating his ancestor's book in a way.
This is why the plan was to make it realistic at the same time showing the legend on its birth country itself. Stoker who will host the event will greet the winners as a character from the famous horror novel, Jonathan Harker, greeting the lucky winners with a famous line from the story.
This event is not only a dream come true for fans of the gothic story. The winners will also have the honor of being the firsts guests to stay overnight since 1948.
To experience it they only need to "show their vampiric wit" by telling Airbnb what they would say to Count Dracula if they ended up coming "face-to-fang" with him adds Huffington Post. The entry window that is seen on the said listing site will be closed on Oct. 26 so hurry and get your answers in.
One thing more, there are certain house rules that should be followed in case you win. This includes no making of cross signs during the entire stay at the castle and wearing silver jewellery. All curtains are supposed to be closed by sunrise. Bringing garlic and/or any items with the garlic scent is obviously forbidden. Taking of mirror selfies is also not allowed.
The castle in Transylvania is one of Romania's top attractions. It has been said to be one of the places that Prince Vlad of the 15th century once stayed. The prince is said to be the inspiration for Stoker's 1897 vampire character.
