Georges St-Pierre did not sign another contract with UFC. The 35-year-old former champ appeared on "The MMA Hour" and disclosed the reason why he terminated his contract.

He said that UFC did not meet his deadline to book his promotion for his comeback fight. "Right now, I'm a free agent," St-Pierre said. "You heard it right, I'm a free agent. My lawyer terminated the contract with the UFC."

Despite this recent announcement of St. Pierre, the UFC said he will still remain in their active rosters and Zuffa LLC as his MMA promoter. St-Pierre was expecting to return in the Octagon earlier this year and rumoured to face the former middleweight champion Anderson Silva.

Georges St-Pierre almost had a deal with the UFC for his comeback fight until the Fertitas sold the company to WME-IMG a California based talent agency. He said they were close to agreement towards the end, until the big news arrived.

He was aware of the News that UFC got sold. He told MMA Fighting, "We were told everything was put on ice until the new owners took charge. So we waited for weeks without any news from the new owners." He heard Lorenzo's offer was off the table.

WME-IMG might have no idea who Georges St-Pierre is.Though he is one of the biggest UFC stars ever, the new owners thought that they need to invest a lot of money for his re-promotion and so that the new fans will have a new fighter to revere . Unlike Conor Mcgregor who can sell tickets out within days, St-Pierre believes that he can fill the entire Toronto Stadium within minutes if ever he returns to fighting.

For the moment, St-Pierre has no plans into joining another MMA promotion. "I really don't know," he said when asked about his plans. He claims of entering a really unknown territory right now. He said he has never been in this situation before. He adds that he will listen to his team of advisers and see what they believe is the best move, and they will go from there.

He can always sign with Bellator which whom adopted former UFC fighters like Ben Henderson, Chael Sonnen and his teammate Rory Macdonald...Who doesn't want a fresh start?
