Dark Souls III News & Update: Bandai Namco's October 21 Patch Fixes 'Neck Swipe' Attacks, Other Bugs
Avid players of the popular multi-player role playing game Dark Souls III would surely be excited. This comes after game developer Bandai Namco Entertainment has announced that a new game patch is slated to be released on Friday, Oct. 21,
Based on the report by Gamespot, Dark Souls III's new patch would apply some changes to the game's poise values. It would be put into effect "across the board" in its effort to make poise more effective and impressive, especially for players who are using heavier high-powered weapons and armor.
The Japan-based game developer made the announcement via Facebook on Tuesday. Oct. 19, eliciting both excitement and enthusiasm from Dark Souls III's avid gamers.
With the upcoming game patch, Dark Souls III will be updated to version 1.08 and as Bandai Namco rolls out the new patch, the game's online mode will be unavailable on a certain time specifically in PlayStation4, Xbox One and Steam gaming consoles respectively.
Patch brings fixes, improvements
The report further states that Dark Souls III's game patch brings a bunch of improvements, fixes, adjustments, among others, with the aim of improving the avid players gaming experience.
Some of the patch's salient features are the improvement of the game's animation for "neck swipe" weapon skill, the fixes for identified bugs related to attacks using the pickaxe that incorrectly consumes stamina for a each attack.
The devs said all the general updates contained in the upcoming patch removes all the errors. It can be recalled that players have encountered errors when they execute "dash attacks." Players said that a certain error prevented them to execute such attack if they used the Farron Greatsword.
"Ashes of Ariandel" expansion
Dark Souls III's new game patch is expected to arrive prior to Ashes of Ariandel, the game's paid expansion. Earlier this year, iDigitalTimes reported Ashes of Ariandel will be rolled out on October 25. It will Bandai Namco's first two DLC expansions for Dark Souls III, the final entry of the games greatest trilogy. The expansion pack is compatible on PS4, PC, Xbox One console platforms and costs $15 which includes armors, items and several weapons.
Rumors have it that Dark Souls III's second expansion will be revealed in early 2017. Meanwhile, Dark Souls III's game creator Hidetaka Miyazaki said the game would not have any new series, saying the game itself is actually a "turning point."
Launched in April 12, Dark Souls III earned its reputation to be one of the most creative and engaging RPG in the gaming industry with fans looking forward for a new series.
