Rapper Azalea Banks Files Complaint Against Actor Russell Crowe After Party Altercation
Azalea Banks has filed a police complaint against Russell Crowe after the Australian actor refused to make an apology preceding a misunderstanding in a private party that went awry.
According to TMZ, Crowe hosted a gathering in a Beverly Hills, California hotel room last Saturday night. The "Broke with Expensive Taste" artist was the plus-one of record producer and artist RZA. RZA was invited by Crowe to his party, as the de-facto leader of Wu-Tang Clan directed the former in the 2012 action-flick "The Man with the Iron Fists."
Banks in a now deleted social media post allegedly made it public that the Academy Award winner used a racial slur against her after which the actor strangled her prior to throwing the rapper out of the party which ended with Crowe spitting on Banks, according to the website. However, party onlookers gave a different account of the incident. The misunderstanding began when Banks ridiculed Crowe's choice of music and called the actor and another party-goer as "boring, white men."
"The Master and Commander" actor has maintained that he had done nothing wrong during that night and as per eyewitness it was the rapper who instigated the fight as she even threatened to break her glass and slit everyone in the throat akin to a Quentin Tarantino movie, according to E! Online.
After Banks said racial slurs of her own, Crowe purportedly administered a "bear hug" on the rapper and carried her out of the room after which hotel security removed her from the premises.
Both celebrities, on the other hand, are no stranger to controversies. Banks even failed to make an appearance in a court case against her when she attacked a nightclub bouncer last 2015. Crowe himself even had a string of public misdemeanors which included an assault on a hotel employee with a telephone last 2005.
