Kenneth Faried Trading Rumors: Are The Warriors Willing To Part With Another Important Piece To Acquire The Nuggets" PF?
The Golden State Warriors are said to add more depth in the shaded lane especially as they have recently exhausted their roster with the arrival of Oklahoma City Thunder's Kevin Durant. Rumor has it that the Warriors are interested in acquiring Denver Nuggets' veteran Kenneth Faried.
According to NuggLove, The Nuggets' athletic power forward has his name tied to a lot of NBA team trade speculations since the offseason. Linking Faried to the Western Conference 2016 champions will surely add more depth to the Warriors roster.
However, this could only be done if the major players in the Warriors roster will take a pay cut in order to move the line-up further in the coming years, as mentioned in the website. Acquiring Faried could mean that the Warriors will let go of a first rounder or a second round pick plus a good bench player.
The Warriors lost a lot of depth on the front court to get Kevin Durant this offseason and could basically replace all of that with one simple move to get Faried. Former starting center Andrew Bogut moved to the Dallas Mavericks while backup center Festus Ezeli signed with the Portland Trail Blazers. The Warriors are now left with Draymond Green who can play the four and five positions along with JaVale McGee and Zaza Pachulia on the five spot. Both McGee and Pachulia are on their past 30s and the addition of a 26-year-old who can play both the power forward and center position could mean quite well for the Warriors.
Faired is a consistent rebounder and pretty good rim defender in his own right which is exactly what the Warriors needed. The Nuggets themselves are stacked-up with big men in the likes of Nikola Jokic and Jusuf Nurkic, international players that could both provide what Faried has contributed to the franchise and even more, according to Hoops Habit.
Faried however still has contributed decent numbers for the Nuggets as the starting forward. Last season, he averaged 12.5 points, 8.7 rebounds and 1.2 assists via a 55.8 percent field goal shooting, showing just a slight downward spiral in his numbers from the previous season.
