WWE Rumors: TJ Perkins To Defend Cruiserweight Title Against Neville?
WWE Cruiserweight champion TJ Perkins is all set to defend his title against Brian Kendrick at Hell in a Cell 2016 though it is likely that the Filipino-American will remain the champ at the said pay-per-view.
TJ Perkins and Brian Kendrick have been feuding since WWE Clash of Champions and the heat between two continues to grow. That match-up will actually be a tie-breaker for the two stars, seeing both scoring separate wins.
As proven in previous encounters, there will be lots of action to expect once more from Perkins and Kendrick, all of which may come to an ultimate end on Oct. 30 from the TD Garden in Boston according to WWE.com. Moving forward and assuming that Perkins picks up yet another win, the question now is who he faces next?
Is Neville stepping up the plate?
Most of the cruiserweights in the WWE right now are virtual unknowns, except perhaps for Kalisto and Neville. Kalisto has so far been indisposed meaning the next likely opponent will be “the man who defies gravity.”
Seeing how the cruiserweight division has been packed with plenty of action and stunts, Perkins vs. Neville makes a lot of sense. However, it will be interesting to see who plays the hero and who plays the villain. Both have been established face wrestlers so one will likely make a turn.
Neville has so far been quiet in the WWE scene so a character change could make sense. While it may be hard to see for now how that can happen, it is a change necessary to help him boost his stock once more.
Neville can easily make the weight requirement for the cruiserweight division (below 205 lbs.) and someone who can add some spice to the division. It may seem like a demotion though better considering he has been relegated to nothing thus far, Forbes reported.
