New York Giants Rumors: Eli Manning Wants Team To Drop Odell Beckham?
Odell Beckham Jr. may have played big in the recent win by the New York Giants but that doesn’t mean that his teammates like Eli Manning are fond of him. In fact, there are some who believe he can do better if he focuses on the field rather than his antics.
Eli Manning for one was not shy to admit that he wasn’t happy with the distractions that Odell Beckham Jr. has been doing. That win over the Baltimore Ravens may have overshadowed all that though success may not last forever if there is dissension among the ranks.
“You can get real sick of it if he goes out there and is not making plays," Manning was quoted of saying with CBS. Coach Bob McAdoo somehow agrees, stressing that the everyone needs to keep their focus on the games. If so, Beckham could end up doing better than the 222 yards he has amassed so far. In the right state of mind, Odell Beckham Jr. could be lethal.
The distractions need to stop
Odell Beckham Jr. ‘s antics include taking off his helmet at the end zone (which is technically a violation), the New York Post reported. There was also that incident where Beckham kicked the net out of frustration against the Washington Redskins, which eventually hit him in the face.
For some, the antics of Beckham could be funny though such is not shared by McAdoo and the rest of the Giants. The list of Odell Beckham Jr. distractions are hard to enumerate at this point, a growing list that could eventually force the Giants to take measures. That includes possibly moving Beckham despite the fact he is performing effectively on the field.
All that may depend on how far the Giants go this season. Assessments will be made and Beckham will be at the top of the list. Having a promising player like Odell Beckham Jr. is a good sign but not if lacks maturity and the respect of his teammates.
