Paris Saint-Germain vs FC Basel: UEFA Champions League Preview, Live Stream, Where To Watch
Multi-titled French football club Paris Saint-Germain are looking to keep their winning ways intact as they take on FC Basel on Wednesday night at the Parc des Princes for Group A's showdown at the UEFA Champions League
After winning five of their last six matches, PSG is aiming to add more in their win column, and are exactly on par with Arsenal FC, leading their bracket. According to a report by ESPNFC.com, PSG coach Unai Emery is not expecting an easy match against the Swiss champions, considering the elite level of competition that is a norm during Champions League tournaments.
"The players expect a tough match, but we'll try to play with our usual personality and motivation," Emery said. "We want to win but also to perform well, with intensity and quality, although Basle will be motivated too. We have some players who aren't at their best, but's it's just a matter of confidence."
PSG, however, will be missing two of its players for the said match. In another report by ESPNFC.com, midfielders Thiago Motta and Javier Pastore will both be out due to injury. The former has been reportedly dealing with gluteal muscle injury, while the latter is still recovering from a calf issue.
From their end, Basle will be missing the services of Manuel Akanji, Andraz Sporar, and Adama Traore. They are also on a hot streak, winning seven of their last eight games, and only lost to group leader Arsenal FC last month. But even so, they are also not in anyway underestimating the opposition.
"Paris aren't at the level of Sevilla yet, but you can see the stamp of their coach. They need time, but they play at a very high level and it will be a very difficult task. We'll need a lot of courage and conviction," said Basle manager Urs Fischer.
The Paris Saint-Germain vs FC Basel UEFA Champions League showdown will start at 2:45 p.m. ET. Live stream and more broadcast details are available on Live Soccer TV.
