Instagram Reveals New feature to intensify rivalry with Snapchat
Instagram launched its Snapchat-like stories to its app and today the social media network mogul made an announcement that it will bring the stories to the explore tab too.
The company also said that 100 million users visit the tab every day to search for images and videos from people they are not following yet. With the new feature users can be able to read stories of other folks within 24 hours after they are posted just like on Snapchat in an excerpt from a report by The Verge.
Instagram has two aims why it followed the footsteps of its rival: First, is to entice the users to share more images and video clips. Second, is to counter the momentum Snapchat had built.
Snapchat is now fast-becoming a favorite site for younger people to hang around.
Instagram stated that its stories are performing sufficiently and 33% of its 300 million day-to-day users are engaged with the stories daily.Although Instagram is on the right track, Snapchat stories still have the edge since they are spruced up with face-changing filters and Snapchat's memories features.
But it appears like the explore tab has just provided Instagram an edge over its rival. Snapchat just allows users to search for accounts to follow and add other user with their phone number, user name, or QR code, but have no access with prominent accounts and try them.
Snapchat had hinted not long time ago that it is devoid of the explore-sque tab since the app is built for getting in touch with your family, friends, relatives and other folks that are close to you. But Snapchat has just transformed into a haven for immense media brands, performing artists, and young social media network stars who gained enormous popularity via Vine. If Snapchat will opt for being passive, Instragram will certainly bask on its sweet outcomes of successfully rolling out the explore tab.
Explore stories are now available on Android and iOS smartphones.
