CM Punk Next Fight Rumors: Phil Brooks Believes Another UFC Match Is In The Works
CM Punk (Phil Brooks) failed to impress at UFC 203 following his decimation at the hands of Mickey Gall, but the former WWE champion believes he still has another shot. Apparently, that depends on Dana White.
CM Punk is clueless on what his next move will be though he strongly believes that it will be in the UFC, MMA Fighting reported. His sense of reasoning on that belief may be a bit off though it does (somehow) make sense.
"I don't want to speak for [Dana White], but I think if he wants to kill it, he would have killed it right then," said the 38-year-old Punk. As most probably know by now, White was not to thrilled with the outcome of his fight at UFC 203.
Back in October, White did touch on the topic. While the UFC president respected Punk for his efforts, he is unlikely to stay and fight inside the Octagon, Sherdog.com reported.
But a recent report on Forbes seems to be suggesting a different tune. According to Punk, White had floated an idea to him and that both were going back and forth on it. The revelation could see Punk getting that second chance though it may likely be fabricated in such a way that the card will not be as boring and lopsided as the one with Gall.
With Punk failing to make an impression, rumors about him possibly returning to the WWE were also suggested. He, however, made it clear that seeing that happen would be impossible for now and that the only time Punk and the WWE would meet again was in the court room.
The legal issues between the WWE and Punk have yet to be settled, which means seeing the former WWE heavyweight champion will be in the far future. If not the UFC or the WWE, Punk could try out other factions like Ring of Honor or the New Japan Pro Wrestling, assuming he is still looking for a fight competitively or for entertainment.
