NBA Trade Rumor: Tom Thibodeau To Give Up Young Timberwolves Players In Exchange For Jimmy Butler, Luol Deng?

With Minnesota Timberwolves losing more games than winning, head coach Tom Thibodeau is reportedly trading some of his young players for a veteran who can help the team win consistently.

Thibodeau was known to have a winning attitude as a coach. During his time with the Bulls, the team did not miss a single playoff appearance. They even clinched the no. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference in 2011.

According to NBC Sports, Thibodeau would likely snap his winning streak this year and he thinks that the Timberwolves were too young to win consistently. The Timberwolves were on a three-game losing streak and have a record of 4-10.

The team was relying too much on their young players like Karl Anthony Towns, Andrew Wiggins and Zach LaVine. So the question from Tom Thibodeau was how can he handle the Timberwolves roster building.

As per Bleacher Report's official Twitter account, Thibodeau is growing impatient and may deal one of his young stars for a veteran who can help him win now.

Thibodeau might bring back his former players to his system and to the Timberwolves squad. There is a chance that Jimmy Butler's trade talks on the previous NBA rookie draft will come back to life again.

Butler can provide an offensive and defensive game to Minnesota plus Butler's average this season was an MVP caliber type of numbers. He averaged 25.8 points, 6.8 rebounds and 4.1 assists per contest.

Luol Deng was one of Thibodeau's reliable players during those Bulls' days so definitely, he is another option. Deng was currently struggling this season with the Lakers wherein he only averaged 6.8 points per game compared to his 19.0 points per game during his last season with the Bulls.

Taj Gibson is solid but he would be somewhat redundant with Towns, Gorgui Dieng, Cole Aldrich and Jordan Hill in Timberwolves active roster. It is smart to say just wait for days to come and see what will be the move of Tom Thibodeau.
