It was a historic night as Seattle Sounders FC faced the Colorado Rapids at the Dick's Sporting Goods Park Commerce City, Colorado.

It was an exciting game as the MLS Cup is on the line. The Sounders waited for seven postseasons before they were finally able to join the MLS Cup.

The Sounders won against the Rapids via a final score of 1-0 which was just enough for them to qualify for the MLS Cup. But despite winning, the team is still waiting on who will they play against and if they will be hosting the cup which will be on Dec 10.

According to MLS Soccer, If Toronto FC is able to turn around their series with the Montreal Impact - which currently sits at 3-2 to the Impact on aggregate - at BMO Field on Wednesday night, the title game will head to Toronto. If Montreal is able to hold out, Seattle would host them at CenturyLink Field.

Seattle goalkeeper Stefan Frei was ecstatic of the results of the game. He said, "It's been a rollercoaster season. It's really nice to be able to reward ourselves for the hard work we've put in to dig ourselves out of that big hole."

Sounders FC reported that Seattle's Coach Brian Schmetzer was emotional after the win. He was very proud of the franchise. "The fans deserve that. They deserve it," he added.

Aside from Frei, forward Jordan Morris made the winning goal for the team. The 2016 MLS Rookie of the Year was the one to make the game-winning goal during the 56th minute yesterday.

He said of the win: "When I started playing, it's the dream to go to the final. So to represent this club, to represent this city, playing in my hometown, it's unbelievable. It gives me chills."

Social media was also quick to congratulate the Team's memorable win. Here are the tweets that made headlines:
