Developers To Unveil Marvel vs Capcom 4 During The PlayStation Experience Event?

It has been awhile since fans have seen a crossover game from Capcom and Marvel. It is about four years now, and it is enough for fans to have their hands itch to get a new installment. While there is no news or indications of a comeback of the series from the developers, there have been reports that a Marvel vs Capcom 4 is very much in the cards. Of course, images circulating the web also cemented the news further.

Just recently, amidst the reports and undying buzz of a comeback of the installment, several pictures that can be Marvel vs Capcom 4 teasers has been leaked. The buzz got stronger when some insiders claimed that the upcoming series will be revealed in the upcoming Dec. 3 PlayStation Experience or PSX event.

The mention of the supposed debut was outed on the NeoGAF forum which is known for frequently shared insider leaks. One of the users - Ryce wrote, "I wasn't going to share this, but enough beating around the bush: a few other GAFers and myself were told about a Marvel vs. Capcom 4 announcement at PSX."

SlashGear also noted that it would make sense for the announcement to be done at the said Sony event as Capcom's Street Fighter V's console was released exclusively for PS4. There is also the fact that the final of the 2016 Capcom Cup tournament is being held at PSX.

Additionally, although the supposed to be release at the PSX is skeptical, it seems that a release is inevitable. With the new images appearing online, is making it seem that a release of the vs. series is already set in stone. There are three new images so far.

The first image indicates the newest chapter of the series will be celebrating the almost 20 years of the Marvel vs Capcom series. According to ComicBook, the first two did join forces in 1996 with the Xmen vs Street Fighter but the first installment of the vs series was in 1998. So it could be fairly accurate if Capcom is focusing on the vs. games.

Meanwhile, the second picture presents Dr. Strange. On the other hand, the third picture features a "4" logo along with the logos of Marvel, Capcom, and PS4 seen at the bottom. One additional speculation here is the game being another PlayStation exclusive. SO it still doesn't mean it will be on PSX.

And truth be told it is unknown yet where the images come from. It could be from the developers trying to excite players and fans to anticipate. Or there is also the matter that someone talented just wanted to showcase his skill and made it out of his own desire for a vs series installment. We never know for sure. Right now we just have to wait.

Marvel vs Capcom is a series of crossover fighting games that was developed and published by Capcom. The games feature characters coming from both Capcom's video game franchises and Marvel Comics. The series is notably the first Vs. series that involved Capcom. Later on, Capcom was also involved in different Vs. series.

The others are SNK vs Capcom with SNK Playmore and Tatsunoko vs Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars with Tatsunoko Production. The characters used in the video games are based on their recent appearances in their animated series. As of now, there are already three installments of the series with the first one released in 1998 while the latest version was released in 2012.
