NBA Rumors And News: Mario Chalmers Actually Signed With Cavaliers To Be With LeBron James?
After recovering from his injury, it seems like Mario Chalmers is already on the roll in the rumor mills. It can be remembered that Chalmers was ruled out of the 2016 season because he ruptured his right Achilles tendon during their game against the Boston Celtics. He was thin waived off the Memphis Grizzlies right after that.
Now that he is back, multiple reports are saying that Chalmers will be teaming up with LeBron James. According to the Inquisitr, the Cavaliers are interested in trading for another point guard and writer Joe Vardon believed that if this does happen, they will definitely be calling Chalmers first.
He wrote "I think [the Cleveland Cavaliers] want to trade for one next month. But if they can't, and if it appears in January that the right deal for a point guard they want will not materialize, and Chalmers is both healthy (he tore his Achilles last season) and available, then, yes, I could see a scenario where they sign him. But that scenario includes him accepting the league minimum or something close to it to play in Cleveland."
Chalmers is confident that he will back inside the court playing by December and this is good news as several other teams are looking forward to his return.
Chalmers said "Right now, I can pretty much do everything. I've been on the court the last two, three months just working on getting back. I'm back to sprinting, running and jumping."
As ESPN reports, Chalmers is confident with his game play and would want to sign with a title contender. He said, "My last performance in the Finals, that's the one thing I do want to change if I ever get the opportunity again."
He added, "That's the one thing that really sticks out in my mind." The point guard has been through four final games and he knows that he has a lot to share with the team that he will be signing for.
