MLB Trade Rumors: Will the Yasiel Puig-for-Ryan Braun Trade Finally Happen?
The Los Angeles Dodgers is still open to trading outfielder Yasiel Puig. The MLB Trading Rumors has been growing ever since the season has ended and the news of Puig being traded off is one being looked at recently.
The Cuban baseball player started his major league career in 2013 when the Dodgers announced that they had recalled Puig from Chattanooga and he made his official debut last June 3, 2013.
Ever since he played for the Dodgers, he has not been traded off or transferred to other teams. In his first at-bat, he singled to left-center off Eric Stults of the San Diego Padres.
His career with the Dodgers has not been smooth sailing all along. In 2015 he had left hamstring issues which force him to miss several games during that season. He was even placed on a 15-day disable list for the very first time in his career.
In 2016 he again had a hamstring issue which resulted in him having less playing time in the field.
According to CBS Sports, Puig's name had previously been connected to the White Sox, among other teams. But with Chicago inching toward its own rebuild, there's no telling whether they remain interested.
Puig had a disappointing season having only hit .263/.323/.416 with 11 home runs.
In other news, there are also reports that say the Los Angeles Dodgers and Milwaukee Brewers trade between Puig and Ryan Braun may push through eventually.
Bleacher Reports said that Braun has been frustrated in not knowing where he would be playing and is tired of waiting. He said "Not knowing 100 percent where [I'll] be playing is hard. It definitely complicates things."
He adds "Obviously, things come up. It's a part of the business. It's a part of the profession. If something were to happen, we'd figure it out when we get there."
It seems players like players are left with no other choice for now but to wait until they get to sign the papers.
