Intel is stepping up the competition as its newest processor has high firepower according to a leaked benchmark test, Intel 7th Gen Core Processor (a.k.a. Kaby Lake Edition).

PC enthusiasts were rocked by leaked information about the upcoming Kaby Lake Edition especially the Core i3-7350K with overclocking capability, in a report by iTechPost. Intel seems intent on giving the consumer wider choices by bringing an affordable OC-ready processor.

The review of leaked information, Intel Core i3-7350K, indicates that the processor is capable of running at maximum boost frequency, 4.2GHz. This Kaby Lake Core i3-7350K has an unlocked multiplier 'K' chip features and also has a dual-core processing with four threads (2C/4T) and an L3 cache of 4MB that help speed up the performance.

Additionally, the processor has thermal design power of 91W which supports the 'K' models from both Kaby Lake i5 and i7 desktop edition, according to the report.

The result of Core i3-7350 leaked benchmark is spreading. Geekbench tested the processor in a default setting of 4.2 GHz with Windows 10 Home (64 bit). The result of the benchmark test shows that it has a better performance than fifth and sixth generation Intel Core i5. The 7th generation i3 processor got a score of 5,137 in a single- core while it scored a 10,048 on multi-core doubling or nearly doubling the Skylake and Haswell i5 'K' series capacity.

The Kaby Lake i3 7350K benchmark scores clearly state its dominance to both late i5 series, as it's only tested in the default setting. Many might be interested this chip will perform when its overclocked as the Intel Core i3-7350K  is the first i3 processor to be unlocked and have support for overclocking.

Intel Core i3-7350K may the open way for cheaper overclocking seats with slightly higher end performance, a good news for bargain hunters.

The Intel Core i3 7350K is lined up in Kaby Lake series. Although it's not yet available in the market, Intel Core i3 7350K is estimated to be retailed for $177.
