NBA Rumors And Update: Brandon Knight Leaving Phoenix Suns To Go To The Golden State Warriors?
Phoenix Suns point guard Brandon Knight has been in the news mainly because of stories that Suns are dropping him off and that he is off to the Golden State Warriors if this happens.
In 2015, Knight was traded off the Suns together with Kendall Marshall from the Philadelphia 76ers. In just two days, the Knight played with his new team with a record of 13 points and five assists. After the trade, he resigned with the Suns on a five-year contract worth $70 million.
According to the Australian Network News, Phoenix is currently evaluating the young player to know his future status. The team is still looking to see if Knights performance would improve despite his struggle with injury. His stats went down significantly and this made an impact on the team.
If his performance continues to decline then the possibility of a trade-in will most probably transpire. But if his performance progresses and he is back in good shape then the Suns will definitely rethink his position in the team and keep him.
But in case it did not turn out well, there are still several teams who would want to have Knight to their team. Among them are the Orlando Magic, his former team Philadelphia 76ers and the Golden State Warriors.
Headlines and Global News claimed that Knight would be a good fit for the Warriors. The team just recently acquired star player Kevin Durant and he has been blending well with the team especially with Stephen Curry.
But since the team acquired a high profile player, they had to let go of starters Andrew Bogut and Harrison Barnes. The Warriors would need a reliable point guard and that is where would come in. Knight can be the Warriors backup point guard and could surely help Durant and Curry as a support.
