NBA Trade Rumors: Anthony Davis To Bulls; Taj Gibson, Nikola Mirotic And Denzel Valentine To Pelicans?
The Chicago Bulls have a strong start this season but the recent NBA trade rumors suggest that the Bulls are targeting Anthony Davis in exchange for their four players.
During the offseason, the Bulls have some major changes in their lineup wherein they traded Derrick Rose to New York Knicks while losing big men Joakim Noah and Pau Gasol in the free agency.
Although they missed most of their key players, they still acquired quality players like Dwyane Wade, Rajon Rondo and Michael Carter-Williams while grabbing rookie Denzel Valentine from the NBA Draft.
The Bulls have a 10-6 win-loss record which makes them rank third in the Eastern Conference behind the Cleveland Cavaliers and Toronto Raptors. The team is mostly relying on Jimmy Butler's scoring prowess while Wade and Rondo support him as well as providing leadership to the team.
Butler is considered the captain of the Bulls squad as he leads the team with a career-best 25.8 points (49 percent shooting from the field and 42.6 percent from the 3-point territory), 6.6 rebounds, 4.1 assists and 1.6 steals per game.
New key additions Dwyane Wade and Rajon Rondo are also having a great season playing in Bulls' uniform. Wade averages 18.9 points, 4.3 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.6 steals while Rondo is averaging 7.7 points, 6.6 rebounds, 7.4 assists and 1.3 steals.
The Bulls are looking great with the performance of those three veterans but HNGN claimed that the Bulls should add another superstar which will make them a tough and powerhouse team in the East.
The report further stated that Pelicans' star forward Anthony Davis should team up with Butler, Wade and Rondo in Chicago to make the team a much likely contender in Eastern Conference and in the NBA Finals. In exchange for Davis, the Bulls will send Taj Gibson, Nikola Mirotic, Denzel Valentine and a first round draft pick.
Davis will play for his hometown Chicago and will bring more depth to the Bulls roster as he can have most of the advantage to any opponents when it comes to post-up or any isolation play and he scores from anywhere on the court. He can also play defense as he leads the NBA blocks with his athleticism and wingspan.
Davis scored 40 points per game in their last four games as he leads the league right now in points (32.1) and in blocks (2.78). He also averages 11.2 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.8 steals with 51.9 percent field-goal shooting.
The Chicago Bulls is considered one of the teams that has the capability in defending LeBron James and the Cavaliers. This club is a good team this season but if ever Davis will play in Chicago, they can be a better team or even the best team.
Aside from that, Davis will have a chance to play for a contender team and his talents will be more appreciated if he plays for a team that can compete in the post-season.
