Chicago Bulls Rumors: Nerlens Noel Headed To Windy City?
Philadelphia 76ers big man Nerlens Noel continues to be at the forefront of NBA trade rumors, and more teams are being tagged as his likely destination.
Currently on the injured list, the 22-year-old power forward/center has yet to play a game for this season. Last month, he underwent arthroscopic knee surgery, and according to ESPN.com's Marc Stein, he still prefers to be traded mainly due to the overabundance of big men that are currently on the Sixers roster.
With that in mind, the Sixers are also said to be already deliberating upon who will be placed on the trading block. Another report by Steve Kyler for Basketball Insiders claims that the Sixers management are leaning towards keeping sophomore Jahlil Okafor, and placing Noel on the market, instead.
Noel is also currently playing for the Delaware 87ers, in which team sources have claimed that it is intended for rehab purposes. But that did not stop the rumors from coming in, as he is now purportedly being targeted to be in a trade with Nikola Mirotic of the Chicago Bulls.
According to Bret Stuter for Fansided.com's "The Sixer Sense", Mirotic goes to Philadelphia, in exchange for the Bulls' first round draft pick. He is expected to be the young power forward who would be able to log in quality minutes for the team.
In turn, the Bulls will be getting Noel, who will be fresh out of surgery if it does take place. However, given the dip in his performance, he is expected to come off the bench, if he does end up playing for the Bulls.
"The Bulls would likely use Noel off the bench this year, and if he demonstrates enough "oomph", could use him in front court rotation next season," an excerpt from Stuter's report reads.
Last season, Noel was able to pile in decent numbers. He ended the year averaging 11.1 points, 8.1 rebounds and 1.8 assists.
