UFC Rumors: Ronda Rousey Furious At Joe Rogan For Latter's Comments About Holly Holm Fight?
On November 15 of the previous year, the entire MMA realm was shaken up when Ronda Rousey was knocked out by Holly Holm in the second round of their fight.
Through one single kick to the jaw, the myth that is "Rowdy" Ronda Rousey had vanished. Her aura of invincibility was gone, and she was no longer seen as the same woman who was once deemed as the "most dominant athlete alive."
Many have pinned the blame on several factors. Some point fingers on her head coach Edmond Taverdyan, who has been deemed to be unqualified as a coach. Others like UFC analyst Joe Rogan, pointed to the fact that she holds many distractions and other extra curricular activities.
"The traps are all there, but everybody keeps going for the candy and they keep getting caught in the trap," Rogan said in a June episode of his podcast "The Joe Rogan Experience" (via Bloody Elbow). "The traps of Hollywood are always there for any superstar athlete, especially fighters and we've seen it all throughout history."
Rousey has already appeared in several feature films such as Fast & Furious 7, The Expendables 3, and the silver screen rendition of HBO hit series Entourage. Most recently, she was tapped to take on the lead role of the remake of the 80's cult classic "Road House."
The former champion will be aiming to take her belt back when she faces current champion Amanda Nunes on December 30 at UFC 207 in Las Vegas. But apparently, she reportedly still holds a grudge against Rogan for his comments.
According to Rogan's friend and fellow stand-up comedian Joey Diaz, Rousey was actually furious at everyone who spoke about her. Specifically, during the time she was knocked out by Holm.
"Not only Joe Rogan, but anybody in that time period that she got knocked out, anybody who said anything of a negative air," Diaz said (via WSOF.com). "She's just furious, and she has a long list, and she's very angry."
