Anime fans have something to celebrate this December, as it marks the return of a beloved anime. Well, not all probably those who have grown up reading the manga or watching the anime of a cute little girl with cute outfits, a lovable sidekick and an official photographer and costume maker. Hints not enough? We're talking about the upcoming Cardcaptor Sakura sequel anime.

The card-capturing and magical anime series will come back and it was officially announced through the official Cardcaptor Sakura Twitter account. The announcement proudly shared the news that a new arc of the anime is already in productions. They even posted when it will premiere as per RocketNews24.

The other good news about this Cardcaptor Sakura sequel is that all of the entire core vocal cast will be returning to give life to the anime. This means, no worrying about how this character doesn't sound right and so forth. For those who don't know or forgot Sakura Kinomoto was voiced by Sakura Tange and Cerberus or Kerberos her cute side-kick guide is voiced by Aya Hisakawa.

Meanwhile, Junko Iwao will still give life to Sakura's best friend Tomoyo Daidoji; love interest/friend Syaoran Li will be voiced by Motoko Kumai; Tomokazu Seki will still voice Sakura's brother Toya and Megumi Okata will give life to Toya's friend Yukito Tsukishiro. They are so committed to trying to continue the anime seamlessly that they got the 1998 Cardcaptor Sakura anime series director Morio Asaka to also return to direct the sequel at Madhouse.

The upcoming sequel is titled Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card Arc which is the same as its manga counterpart. According to Anime News Network, Kodansha's Nakayoshi magazine has revealed that it will premiere by January 2018 on NHK.

Cardcaptor Sakura is a manga series written and illustrated by manga group Clamp. It originally runs from May 1996 to June 2000 in Nakayoshi. It has spawned 12 volumes and a 70-episode anime TV series. It also had two anime films, several video games, art books, picture books and film comics.

The story of the series features elementary student Sakura Kinomoto who discovers that she has magical powers. She accidentally frees a set of magical cards from a book that they have been sealed in. To avoid an unknown disaster happening, she needs to retrieve those cards.

The story was continued with a sequel of the manga entitled Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card Arc. It was published recently, just this year in July. This time Sakura is seen as a junior high school student. The series' original manga marks this year as its 20th birthday.
