NBA Rumors: Turkey National Team Forward Cedi Osman To Join Cleveland Cavaliers Next Season?

Small forward Cedi Osman of the Turkey national team could be seen playing for Cleveland Cavaliers next season. How true are the rumors?

There were reports that Osman was going to play in the NBA last summer but he decided to play for another season in Anadolu Efes. David Pick reported that the Cavs met Cedi Osman and he told them that he would love to play in the NBA next regular season.

The 21-year-old Osman averages 10.2 points and 2.9 rebounds per game this season. Osman was drafted 31st overall by the Minnesota Timberwolves but ended up traded to Cleveland Cavaliers in exchange for Tyus Jones as per ESPN.

According to SB Nation (Fear the Sword), Osman will be a great addition on the Cavaliers as his 3-point percentages continue to improve. Osman was a 39.6 percent 3-point shooter during his last season with Efes but his percentage from the 3-point territory goes up to 53 percent in this season.

He is also a good at attacking the basket as he is getting more chances to attack off the dribble this year and he has the ability to finish over with contact at a higher rate. He is also good at cutting to open lanes as well as passing.

On the defensive side, Osman has an optimistic future on becoming a strong NBA defender. He uses his lateral quickness to stick with his opponents in isolation and he is shading well off-ball containing opponent's penetration.

Osman can be considered as a 3-and-D type of player who is needed by any teams in the NBA. With Mike Dunleavy struggling this year, Osman can fill the small forward duties in Cleveland.

Osman is probably the best chance that the Cavs have in getting a rotation player in their near future. He can be trade bait or a future development piece depending on how the Cavs want to manage their roster this year and to the following years.
