‘Pokemon Go’ Latest News & Update: The Search For Santa Hat Pikachu Is On!
The long-awaited Christmas in-game event for “Pokemon Go” is here and augmented reality players have tons of things to do for the holidays. Niantic has rolled up plenty of updates ranging from game feature improvements and a wide volume of pocket monsters to capture.
While all that is welcome news, there is one critter that “Pokemon Go” players may want to keep their eye on – the Santa-capped Pikachu. The lovable yellow critter will be available from Dec. 12 to 29, meaning time is of the essence.
Also, it would be best to take note that there are regular ones and the Santa Hat Pikachu. The first one may be easier to catch but the limited edition “Pokemon Go” character may need proper logistics and planning.
The Santa Hat Pikachu is technically a rare, meaning “Pokemon Go” players will have to stock up on PokeBalls and raspberries. Don’t expect to capture him with one try since he is likely to be a tough Pokemon to handle, Pocket Lint reported.
That said, it would be best to be prepared. As most know, there is a new nearby tracking feature that aids players in seeing where the “Pokemon Go” critters are at. Use that to your advantage but also make sure you have Great Balls or Ultra Balls plus some raspberries, Game Rant reported.
Many are under the impression that it would take multiple throws to capture the Santa Hat Pikachu. To aid the effort, it would be best to feed him raspberries for an easier catch. All these are necessary to avoid the unfortunate possibility of seeing Pikachu run away just when capture is within reach.
There is a possibility that “Pokemon Go” players will encounter him multiple times. Seeing that he is a limited edition critter, it would be best to capture as many as one can. He will be a rare sight to see so one would be enough as most focus their attention on the other 100 Pokemon reportedly added to the hit augmented reality game.
