Soccer News And Updates: Jose Mourinho Thinks Man U Is Too Dependent On Zlatan Ibrahimovic For Score
The Manchester United FC played at the Crystal Palace last night at the Selhurst Park and it was a close game. Man U ruled the game all throughout but it was not until the very end that the Zlatan Ibrahimovic made a significant goal for the team.
Now the manager of Premier League club Manchester United, Jose Mourinho thinks that his team has been too dependent on Ibrahimovic to win their game.
Ibrahimovic has struggled in October as he played for six games without making any goal. He managed to change his form and was able to strike out twice during their game against Swansea. He managed to accumulate 7 goals in his last 7 games and now has a total of 13 this season.
According to the Independent, the head coach is concerned that he is worried that his team is getting too dependent on Ibrahimovic. He said, "We need to score more goals."
He adds "We are living on Zlatan's goals at the moment. Michael Owen doesn't like him but the reality is he scored 17 goals in three years at Man United and Zlatan will have scored that many in just six months."
Manchester U is still aiming to get this season's Premiere League title and this is despite that they are still trailing behind Chelsea by 13 points. Mourinho commented "The aim is to be champions, that's the destination. This season the distance is a considerable distance. "
He continued, "Even if you have a good run of results, you are always depending upon what the others are doing. We are going to try, we are still in the fight."
Mourinho was just appointed by the team to be their head coach in May 2016. As of 2015, the team is the world's most valuable football brand, estimated to be worth $1.2 billion.
