The Oakland Raiders are having their best season in many years, and looking to make a Super Bowl run, but things got ugly when the Raiders witnessed the Colts Trent Cole break the leg of their MVP candidate and team leader on Saturday. They will now lose Derek Carr to a season-ending injury as he will undergo surgery on Sunday.

According to NFL Sports News, the injury started when Trent Cole beat Raiders left tackle Donald Penn around the corner, and went to the ground, crawling towards Carr and diving at him from behind. Cole grabbed Carr near the waist and slid down towards Carr's ankle while trapping him underneath his body. The incident was also the first time that an opponent had touched Carr, as the Colts had yet to record a sack.
The Oakland Raiders won the game 33-25 over the Indianapolis Colts, but it didn't feel like a victory after they lost their leader. Linebacker Bruce Irvin told the media that seeing Carr suffer like that, really demoralized the players. X- Ray result showed that Derek Carr specifically suffered a right broken fibula.

IndyStar reporter claimed that there was no intent by Trent Cole to hurt Carr. Cole said that things happened so fast and regrets the outcome. "Carr loves to play football just like I love to play football. I hope Carr is OK, man. I really do," said Cole.
