NBA News: Find Out LeBron James' 32nd Birthday Wish, And it Involves Michael Jordan
Cleveland Cavaliers superstar LeBron James has one wish for his upcoming 32nd birthday on Friday, December 30.
According to a report by ESPN.com, the 2016 NBA Finals MVP is looking for the comparisons between him and Michael Jordan to stop. According to the Cavs superstar forward, there may be similarities in their status as elite players, but their style of play is completely different.
"Our games are just different. His body is different. My body is different than his. So, just, you recognize the dominance that someone had at that age ... but there's no similarities in our game at all," James said.
Comparisons between James and Jordan have been rampant for years now, since the former entered the league in the early 2000's as one of the best players to come out from high school at the time. Like Jordan, James has been able to steer his teams to respective championships, with the most recent one with the Cavaliers being the sweetest one since it is the franchise's first ever NBA title in history.
In June, James already rejected such comparisons. For him, he still has a lot to accomplish before being mentioned in the same breath as the legendary athletes of all time.
"I'm not Michael. I'm not Ali. I'm not nobody else that's done so many great things for sport," James said via a June report by Sports Illustrated.
The Cavaliers are currently situated at the top of the Eastern Conference standings with a record of 24-7. James, along with his teammates have managed to put in a good run so far, en route to possibly defending their title successfully. And for head coach Tyronn Lue, while James may not be Jordan, he possesses the qualities of some of the greatest players, which makes him a unique specimen.
"He's got the explosiveness and power of Dominique Wilkins, the scoring ability of Jordan at times. The court vision and the way he pushes the pace like Magic Johnson and having the height, so he's a mixture between three guys.
