NBA News: Kevin Love No Longer Holding Grudge Towards Cavs
In October 2014, Cleveland Cavaliers big man was having an internal issue with himself, with regards to his status on the team.
Particularly, he was having trouble trying to "fit in" with the team. At the time, he says he was advised by his teammates to just "be himself." Love also admitted to have had trouble with playing his role, when it comes to on the court issues.
"You always say check your egos at the door but we also need to bring our egos with us because that's what makes us so great. We wouldn't be here without them," Love said in a 2014 report by ESPN.com.
Love did struggle to find his place in the team throughout that season, even superstar LeBron James had to posted a cryptic tweet about someone "trying to fit-out" and advising him to "just fit-in." To his credit, the number five overall draft pick was one of the vital pieces that comprised the Cavaliers' championship team last June.
With the new season now in full swing, Love has seemingly managed to have found his spot on the roster. So much so that he even believes he is once again a player of All-Star caliber.
"I think you come in every year hoping to play well, play your best and I believe in my heart every year," Love said in a recent interview with Cleveland.com. And it's not like I forgot how to play -- I'm an All-Star caliber player. I don't necessarily need All-Star appearances to show that."
Head coach Tyronn Lue has recognized Love's importance in the team, and has made him one of the catalysts for the team's offense. To his credit, he was able to live up to his expectations, as he is currently averaging double-doubles with 22.2 points, 10.9 rebounds, through 32 minutes of playing time per game.
