NFL Update: 2017 Playoff Schedule Released

As predicted at the beginning of the season, the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks are still on track for a Super Bowl rematch.

While the Patriots have remained their usual selves, playing at a consistently high level, the same can not be said for the Seahawks, who have shown signs of vulnerability throughout the season. Yes, they made the playoffs, but they lost their first round bye, and will have to duke it out in the wild card round.

It won't be an easy road for either team, as contenders like Dallas, Pittsburgh, Kansas City, New York and Atlanta will have something to prove against the pre-season favorites.

In the AFC, the Steelers and Chiefs look like the teams that could give New England a run for their money. Both teams boast explosive offenses, that can put a lot of points on the board. The task will be outscoring Tom Brady, while trying to limit his production as much as possible. Easier said than done, especially considering that the Patriots will have home field advantage throughout the post-season.

The NFC also has strong contenders, most notably the Dallas Cowboys with their strong defense, offensive line, and rookie sensations, who all contibuted to the Cowboys run to the division title and number one seed. They're looking like the team to beat in the NFC.

The Falcons, Giants and Packers all have top level quarterbacks with high powered attacks. The question will be if their defenses can rise to the occasion and limit Dak Prescott and/or Russell Wilson. It's important to have a team that can score points, but defense wins championships, and the only team that has a defense that can rival Dallas, or Seattle, is the New York Giants.

The field is now set. Here is the 2017 NFL Playoff Schedule:
