WWE Rumors: Ronda Rousey and Conor McGregor, From UFC to Pro Wrestling
The Ultimate Fighting Championship careers of Ronda Rousey and Conor McGregor are heading to opposite directions. Rousey looks done after absorbing another tough loss, while McGregor is set to earn huge bucks in the coming years as the face of the promotion.
But when the dust settles and both of them lose their luster inside the Octagon, Rousey and McGregor will still have opportunities to grab. Will they eventually become superstars in World Wrestling Entertainment?
Popular WWE personality Paul Heyman thinks that McGregor should strongly consider making the jump to pro wrestling. He said that a move to pro wrestling will benefit both McGregor and WWE. McGregor will be a huge star, while WWE will draw more attention through him.
"It'd be great if he was. He's a main line box office attraction," Heyman said in a WWE Network interview via Fox Sports. "He's a headline news grabber. I think it'd be great for WWE and I think it would be even better for Conor McGregor."
Heyman even added that he is willing to play a role in McGregor's WWE career. He is best known for being the manager of Brock Lesnar, who also spent years competing inside the UFC Octagon.
On the other hand, WWE fans already had a glimpse of Rousey inside the wrestling ring. The former UFC women's bantamweight champion appeared at WrestleMania 31 in 2015, where she had an altercation with Stephanie McMahon.
Following her WrestleMania 31 appearance, there were talks that she could appear again at WrestleMania 32 but it did not happen. And after losing to Amanda Nunes in an embarrassing fashion at UFC 207, Rousey is now being linked to a possible move to WWE once again.
But will it happen? It will not be a surprise if it does. However, Forbes reported that fans should temper their expectations because Rousey might not make the jump to WWE at all.
First, she needs to recover physically and mentally from the devastating loss. Forbes also added that Rousey might just focus on her acting career instead of taking the physical beating in WWE. It will not be impossible, though, if she will consider part-time deals or cameos like what she did at WrestleMania 31.
