NFL Latest News: Jacksonville Jaguars Hire Marrone As Head Coach

According to NFL Sports News, Doug Marrone finished the 2016 season as the Jacksonville Jaguars interim head coach and he's now been hired to be the teams full-time head coach. The Jaguars also signed general manager Dave Caldwell to a two-year extension.

The Jaguars fired head coach Gus Bradley following a 21-20 loss to the Houston Texans in Week 15, and appointed Marrone as the interim head coach, where he posted a 1-1 record in hs two games in charge to end the season.

NFL critics believe that Marrone should be a good hire for Caldwell and ownership because they know Marrone well after two seasons on the Jaguars staff as the team's assistant head coach and offensive line coach.he also has a good feel for the players who seem comfortable with him.

Jacksonville Jaguars QB Bortles said "I think Doug has earned the rest of the offensive players and I'm excited for him to get this opportunity and the direction of this team," Bortles completed 64 percent of his passes in both his games under Doug Marrone this season, and he only did that once under Bradley this season.
