NBA News: Los Angeles Clippers Hire Garnett As Team Consultant; Blake Griffin Injury Update
NBA latest news reported that the Los Angeles Clippers hired Kevin Garnett on Tuesday as a team consultant. The update on the Blake Griffin knee injury also claims that Griffin took some jump shots at Clippers practice on Tuesday.
Garnett Is Going Back To NBA As Clippers Consultant
Kevin Garnett has returned to the NBA as a part-time Clippers consultant position. After retiring as a player just before this season, following a two-decade career, Garnett made a training camp appearance with the LA Clippers.
Apparently, the Clippers are paying KG to spend more time with the organization, as Garnett worked with the Clippers big men. Clippers Coach Doc Rivers said KG put on a clinic, and should be a great addition to the staff.
Crawford says "You see Kevin Garnett here, I couldn't stop watching him, to be honest with you. Like, he's one of my 10 favorite players ever. I'm watching Garnett now, as I talk to you guys. It's unbelievable."
Clippers Assistant Coach Woodson added "I'm happy he's part of our family now. Garnett has always been part of Doc's Rivers family, and I just think as we move forward it's going to help Jordan a lot. I mean, all of our big guys. KG is going to be a Hall of Famer one day and I think all the experience that he's put out on the basketball floor, if these guys are willing to listen and learn, they will benefit in the long run."
Garnett played for Rivers in Boston for six seasons, where they won the 2007 NBA title together. Garnett averaged 17.8 PPG and 10 RPG throughout his NBA 22 seasons.
Blake Griffin Update: Griffin Can Take A Jump Shot Now
According to CBS Sports News, Griffin had recent examinations of his right knee, which required a scope about three weeks ago. Griffin had a light practice with some on-court activity, where he started taking jump shots, a sign that he's progressing with his rehab.
