WWE: John Cena vs Bray Wyatt Possible at WrestleMania 33?
Bray Wyatt is the WWE champion heading to WrestleMania 33, but he has no clear opponent since Randy Orton declared that he is not going to use his title shot. Is John Cena vs Bray Wyatt for the WWE title still possible at WrestleMania 33?
Wyatt defeated Cena and four other WWE superstars to win his first ever WWE title. He was also triumphant this past Tuesday on SmackDown Live when he took down Cena and A.J. Styles in a Triple Threat Match, per WWE.com.
Orton came out after the match and declared that he is not going to use the title shot he earned by winning the Royal Rumble. The two remaining members of The Wyatt Family ended SmackDown Live standing all in the middle of the ring.
As for Cena, he was not given a long title reign because he will take another hiatus after WrestleMania 33. According to Wrestling Inc, the 16-time WWE world champion is going to start filming his new movie "The Pact" that is set to be released next year.
The report noted that the WWE already planned his hiatus way ahead of time. This explains why he lost the title quickly so a match with Wyatt is not on the cards anymore. He is now linked to a Mixed Tag Team Match with Nikki Bella against The Miz and Maryse at WrestleMania 33.
On the other hand, Randall Ortman of Cageside Seats reported that WWE is planning a Triple Threat Match for the WWE championship at WrestleMania 33. Orton is still slated to turn on Bray, while Luke Harper gets inserted into the mix.
SmackDown Live general manager Daniel Bryan announced on Talking Smack that a Battle Royal on next week's show will determine the new No. 1 contender for the WWE title. If the rumors are true, Harper will win the Battle Royal and challenge Bray at WrestleMania 33.
