‘Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands’: Another Milestone for Ubisoft and Tom Clancy Series
It was just another week that flies by, but not for Ubisoft which recently released "Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Wildlands" and was well-received by gamers and fans all over the world. It was another milestone for Ubisoft and the Tom Clancy series after "Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Wildlands" was released on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
First, a record of 6.8 million players reportedly joined the last beta test before the release of the game as reported by MadeforGaming.com. The "Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Wildlands" beta test which runs on Steam from Feb. 23rd to Feb. 27th allowed the players to roam around two of the 21 provinces included in the game, which is the biggest open world video game so far for Ubisoft.
Biggest Launch for 2017
During its worldwide release last week, March 7th, "Ghost Recon: Wildlands" unseated also the recently released video game PlayStation 4-exclusive "Horizon Dawn Zero", unseating it as the No. 1 selling video game after just one week at the helm. "Ghost Recon: Wildlands", however, is still behind Tom Clancy's The Division in terms of overall record for launch week sales.
As posted by Gfk Chart-Track, "Exactly one year after the record-breaking 'Tom Clancy's The Division' (still the biggest launch within any Q1 on record), Ubisoft now debut at #1 on the All Formats Top 40 (Units) with 'Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Wildlands', the biggest Week 1 launch of the year so far.
In terms of Week 1 debut units 'Wildlands' is #2 in a very long list of Tom Clancy games, pushing Ghost Recon stable mate 'Future Soldier' down from #4 to #5 in the Tom Clancy games Week 1 sales pecking order."
"Ghost Recon: Wildlands" Story Plot and Gameplay
As Made for Gaming revealed, "'Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Wildlands' takes place in Bolivia, as the country has been turned by a vicious drug cartel into an in-game narco-state. Players are tasked with eliminating the cartel by any means necessary. The massive and responsive open world encourages a variety of play styles, allowing players the freedom to choose how they execute any missions, in either four-player co-op, or solo, from beginning to end."
