‘Witcher 4’ News: Next-Gen RPG Confirmed by CD Projekt Red; Will it be Released Soon? [VIDEO]
"The Witcher 3" is currently considered as one of the best role-playing game in the gaming store. It is said to be ranked among classics like "Dragon Age: Origins and Baldurs Gate" and "Skyrim." The Witcher series is created by a humble studio in Poland called CD Projekt Red. While it is considered as a digital masterpiece, fans want another game set in the same universe.
It seems that their prayers are answered since CD Projekt Red has finally confirmed that they will be creating the next title of the franchise, the "The Witcher 4." Adam Kicinski, the CEO of the company shed light on the subject during his interview with a Polish TV station. He said that it is early to talk about it. However, they have worked for the "Witcher" universe for over a dozen years and they don't think it will just be until "The Witcher 3."
The "Witcher" series, which is based on a best-selling book series by Andrzej Sapkowski, a Polish Author, follows the story of Geralt of Rivia. Geralt is a monster hunter drenched with improbable training and pretty brutal body alterations. He travels the world while getting rid of the monsters that swarm the land.
Even though "The Witcher 3" has seen the end of the scarred hero Geralt's story, it would certainly be not the end of the road for the "Witcher" series. According to Geek Reply, A new hero will be taking up Geralt's mantle. Moreover, there will also be a whole roster of great characters to choose from.
Fans should not expect "The Witcher 4" to be released anytime soon. It is because CD Project has just finished releasing the last of "The Witcher 3's" DLC, "Blood and Wine." According to FRAGHERO, it is also because most of the company's team has already started creating another open world sci-fi game titled "Cyberpunk 2077."
Lastly, it is highly expected that the upcoming "Witcher 4" will be released in the latter months of 2018.
