The Golden State Warriors continue their hot streak on Monday night when they visited and defeated the Oklahoma City Thunder. The Warriors did it without Kevin Durant, who traveled with the team but still not cleared to return from a knee injury.

On the other hand, the Boston Celtics increased their lead over the Washington Wizards in the NBA Eastern Conference standings. The Celtics beat the Wizards at the TD Garden on Monday to gain a two and a half game lead for the second seed.

Warriors Beat Thunder Without KD

Kevin Durant joined the Warriors for their two-game road trip with the first stop in Oklahoma City. It was still an emotional game and tempers flared before halftime between Stephen Curry, Russell Westbrook and Semaj Christon.

However, the Warriors got the last laugh, as they blew out the Thunder at the Chesapeake Energy Arena 111-95. Klay Thompson exploded for 34 points, while Stephen Curry added 23 points and six assists. The Warriors now have a two and a half game lead over the San Antonio Spurs in the NBA Western Conference standings.

Russell Westbrook struggled for the Thunder, but he almost put up another triple-double with 15 points, eight rebounds and seven assists. The Thunder still hold the sixth spot in the NBA standings in the West, but they are tied with the Memphis Grizzlies.

Celtics Increase Lead Over Wizards With Win

The Celtics got a statement win over the Wizards to increase their lead for the second seed in the NBA standings to two and a half games. Isaiah Thomas had 25 points, four rebounds, four assists and two steals in the 110-102 Celtics win.

Avery Bradley put up 20 points and nine rebounds, while Al Horford added 16 points, nine rebounds, five assists and two blocks. On the other hand, John Wall had 16 points and eight assists, while Bradley Beal scored 19 points for the Wizards.

The Celtics and Wizards were battling for the second seed just two weeks ago, but it seems like Boston will get the tiebreaker just in case. They are also just two games behind the Cleveland Cavaliers for the top spot in the Eastern Conference.
